Online poker cheats: what exists, what Google shows, and where each room stands

On 16 October 2026 we read the first page of Google for four general searches about cheating at online poker. Of 30 organic results, 12 are forum threads, 6 are bot or solver software, and none is a poker room explaining what it catches. Below is the sorted list, followed by a table that sends each club app and each kind of cheat to the page where we looked closer.

§ The short answer
Almost everything people search for under “online poker cheats” falls into four groups: software that plays or advises from your own screen, rings of people who cooperate, accounts that are not who they claim to be, and promises of a view of hidden cards that we have never seen shown. The first three exist and are enforced against. The fourth is the one that gets sold.
  1. We read the first page of Google for four queries on 16 Oct 2026 (English, US location): 30 organic slots in all.

  2. 12 slots are forum, Reddit, Quora or Q&A threads. 6 are software for playing or training. 3 are explainers from poker sites, 4 are guides to cheating (two pages, each shown twice), and 2 are strategy “cheat sheets” that have nothing to do with cheating.

  3. The oldest result on the page is a Poker Stack Exchange question from 1 Aug 2013. The newest dated forum thread is from Feb 2024.

  4. No result comes from a club app’s own website. Google shows an AI summary on only one of the four queries, ‘poker cheat bot’.

  5. In our reviews of three club apps where we counted slots, 3 of 32 (PokerBros), 9 of 32 (ClubGG) and 10 of 32 (X-Poker) advertise a card-viewing tool.

What we searched

Four phrases in a single session: online poker cheats, cheats in poker, cheat at poker online and poker cheat bot. For each we wrote down the domain and the kind of page, with whatever date or comment count Google displayed, and the “People also ask” questions. We read results pages only. No result was opened, nothing was downloaded or bought. Where we describe a page, we describe what Google said about it.

The first query returned seven text results plus video blocks. The second and third gave eight each, and the third also had a ninth, an app-store listing. The fourth gave seven, because an AI summary and a video block took the space. That makes 30.

What the first page contains

Type Slots (of 30) What showed up What we could check
Forum, Reddit, Quora, Q&A 12 An r/poker thread “Isn’t it super easy to cheat in online poker?” (270+ comments, about four years old) on two queries; a Two Plus Two thread “What percentage of players have cheated online?” (10 Feb 2024); Poker Stack Exchange questions from 2013 and 2019; three Quora questions; an r/poker thread about a bot farm (310+ comments) Titles, dates, comment counts. We did not read the threads
Software for playing or training 6 An open-source bot repository on GitHub, a bot vendor’s site, GTO Wizard, a poker-AI app, and two research bots (Slumbot, DeepStack) These are what the page says they are. All six appear on ‘poker cheat bot’
Explainers from poker sites 3 A piece on poker.com about sites combating real-time assistance; Pokercoaching on spotting and avoiding cheating (7 Nov 2024); a bankroll-app piece on live cheating signs Headlines and snippets
Guides to cheating 4 A PDF on Scribd titled “Online Poker Cheating Methods Explained” (two queries) and a tournament-software site’s “Five ways to cheat in online poker” (two queries); two pages, four slots Titles only. Neither was opened
Strategy cheat sheets 2 A hands-ranking sheet and a free “Ultimate Poker Cheat Sheet 2026” download from a strategy site Not about cheating. The word “cheat” in the title is the whole connection
Reference, video, social 3 The Wikipedia article “Cheating in poker”, a Facebook video on sleight of hand, a YouTube video on protecting yourself from online cheating Not specific to any room
Poker room or operator pages 0 None Not present

The same few pages repeat across neighbouring searches, which is why four queries give 30 slots but fewer distinct pages.

The “People also ask” box on three of the four queries includes “What is the 72 rule in poker?”, a strategy question unrelated to cheating, so Google reads these searches as partly about winning. And the AI summary on ‘poker cheat bot’ says that bots on real-money tables count as cheating and that sites ban accounts and confiscate funds. It cites Poker Stack Exchange and GitHub, not an operator. We do not rely on that machine-written sentence. Our own sourcing for the same point is on the detection page.

The four things that exist

Software that plays or advises. A bot clicks for you. Real-time assistance leaves you at the controls while a solver supplies the decision. Both work from the screen you already have, which is why they are technically possible and why operators treat them as the main violation. Detection concentrates on behaviour such as timing that never varies, which is covered on the detection page.

Cooperation between players. Collusion and chip dumping need nothing but two accounts and an agreement. On licensed sites hand-history review can find them. In agent-run clubs the same review is left to a club owner who may be a participant. We therefore put structure ahead of software in our PPPoker cheats page.

Accounts that are not who they say. Multi-accounting and bot farms depend on weak identity checks. On the licensed side, our one dated figure is a $320,000 seizure in a multi-accounting case, cited in our field guide. On club apps the checks are weaker, as the club-app page lays out.

A view of other players’ cards. This is what the “hack” and “x-ray” pages sell. We have not found one that shows a result a viewer can reproduce. We assume club apps deal on the server and send each seat only what that seat may see, though we cannot audit any app’s protocol and say so on each page.

The question “is the game rigged” is handled on its own page, and the legal side on are poker bots illegal. Live-table methods (marked cards, hardware) are in live poker cheating.

Room by room

Each row points to the page where we did the reading. The “slots” figures are from our own reviews of Google’s first page for that room’s queries, run on different days, so they are comparable in kind and not in exact size.

Room or app What a search for a cheat gives What the operator’s own words say Where we looked
PPPoker Three queries, 1 Oct 2026, about two dozen results: YouTube sales videos, mod-APK mirrors, one AI-bot site, and forum threads with no product to sell The publisher describes GPS and IP restrictions and captcha on ring games. The documented harm is organisers vanishing at Diamond Union (about $4 million) and Apex Union (about €5 million) PPPoker cheats, PPPoker hack, cheat codes
PokerBros 5 Oct: mostly the operator’s own blog, affiliate reviews and one Reddit thread. 9 Oct: 3 of 32 slots sell a card-viewing tool, 1 is a buyer asking for one (hacking forum, 31 Aug 2022) Bans hacks, bot scripts and programs that give information about other users; permanent ban per account. Reports a 97.5% proactive detection rate for 2022, self-reported and without a stated denominator PokerBros cheat, PokerBros hack
ClubGG 13 Oct: 9 of 32 slots promote a card-viewing tool, 3 are one bot vendor, 9 are forum or Q&A threads. clubgg.com is in none of them Terms of 17 Jun 2026 forbid robots, scripts, macros; winnings can be forfeited at the operator’s “sole discretion”. The help centre says it does not mediate disputes inside a club ClubGG hack
X-Poker 21 Oct: 10 of 32 English slots promote a card-viewing tool, 3 are one bot vendor, 6 are forum or Q&A threads. Where we counted slots, the share of the first page given to a card-viewing promise varies widely, from 0 of 32 for GGPoker and 3 of 32 for PokerBros to 9 of 32 for ClubGG and 10 of 32 for X-Poker. We do not know why. The PokerBros first page is crowded by the operator’s own posts and affiliate reviews. On ClubGG the operator is missing from the results altogether. One reading is that where an operator publishes more, sellers are pushed down. GGPoker, where the operator publishes the most, gave the fourth reading: 0 of 32. X-Poker’s own site appeared once in 32 slots. These four data points do not establish why the share varies.

What to do with this

If a page promises that you can see other players’ cards, ask what it shows before it asks for anything. A recording with no live table and no way to check cards at showdown shows nothing. In every commercial result we read across the four room reviews, the first thing asked of the visitor is a payment, a Telegram message or an APK install. How those conversations end is covered on the scam page.

If you play on a club app, ask who runs your club and who holds the balance. Keep timestamped hand histories. Report to the operator, and tell the club owner too.

Risk The sellers we found want a payment or a file before they show a result. Among the results for the three club apps, no commercial page let a viewer verify the claim first. The operators we read impose permanent bans on users. ClubGG’s terms also provide for forfeited winnings and possible referral to law enforcement.
Note What’s established vs. what’s assumed. Established: what Google showed us on 16 October 2026 for four queries from one US location, and the wording and dates of the snippets we quote; the figures from our own earlier reviews, as dated on each page. Reported by others: everything claimed inside the threads and videos, on the sales pages, plus the AI summary. Assumed: the card-viewing argument rests on club apps dealing cards on their servers, which we cannot audit. We opened nothing, downloaded nothing, bought nothing, and results change daily.

Q&A · frequently asked
Is cheating at online poker common?

It happens often enough that the large rooms publish their sweeps. The figures we cite on our detection page include a single GGPoker sweep that closed 40 accounts and returned money to 4,329 players. Those are the cases that were caught, so they say little about what was missed. On agent-run club apps there is no comparable public record, and we cannot give a rate.

What is the difference between a poker bot and a cheat that shows other players' cards?

A bot plays your hand for you using what is on your own screen, which is why it can exist. A tool that shows opponents' hole cards would need those cards to arrive at your device, and in the server-dealt games we looked at they do not. Every offer of the second kind that we met in search results was a video, a Telegram contact or a download link, with nothing a viewer could check.

Why are so many top results for these searches old threads?

In our 16 October reading, the first page for 'online poker cheats' held a Reddit thread about four years old and a Poker Stack Exchange question from August 2013. We do not know why Google keeps them there. The practical effect is that a reader looking for current rules and numbers has to dig past discussion from before the current wave of real-time assistance bans.

Should I look for a cheat on a club app?

We would not, and the operators we read say the same in their terms. PokerBros bans hacks, bot scripts and any program that gives information about other players, with a permanent ban per account. ClubGG's terms forbid automated technology and allow the operator to take winnings from anyone it believes cheated. The sellers we found ask for payment or a file before showing anything.
